2024 ADVENT APPEAL

As we enter this blessed season of Advent, we are reminded of the hope and light that Christ brings into our lives. This year marks a significant milestone for Vermont Catholic Charities, as we celebrate our 30th Annual Advent Appeal. Since its inception, over $1,000,000 of assistance has been distributed to Vermonters in need.  We invite you to join us in making a profound difference in the lives of those we serve.

Over the past three decades, your generosity has helped us support countless individuals and families facing challenges such as maintaining housing, feeding their families, and keeping the heat and lights on.   Your contributions have not only provided essential services but have also offered hope and dignity to those in need.

This Advent, as we await the joyous celebration of Christ’s birth, we ask you to consider supporting our mission once again. We have seen firsthand the transformative power of your kindness. By giving to the Advent Appeal, you help people in crisis, especially the most vulnerable among us. 

Help people like Tonya keep her lights on.  Tonya lives alone and has some health issues.  We assisted with her utility bill and provided a food card. Tonya stated, “The help with my utility bill was desperately needed and the food card was immediately used. I am so grateful for your kindness and gentle words.”

Help parents like Mary and Chris keep the heat on.  Mary and Chris are parents of three school-aged children.  They both work but Mary's hours were reduced. They faced some unanticipated medical and household expenses. When Mary called us, they were unable to cover the cost of fuel for their tank. We helped ensure a delivery and helped the family with a food card. They stated, “We were losing hope, and your compassion and assistance lifted us when we needed it – we are truly grateful!”

Please consider making a donation to the 30th Annual Advent Appeal.  Every gift — whatever the size —makes a difference.  Last year, thanks to your generosity, more than 1900 adults and 1300 children received aid through the Advent Appeal and our year-round Emergency Aid Program.
